Monthly Ironies

**Warning - Female Issues Ahead**

To recap: Per Dr. S. I was doing a trial non-Clomid cycle to see if my body had gotten itself sorted out.

As of Saturday I was on CD 33. So I thought I should try a pregnancy test Sunday morning. I had no PMS symptoms, no indication that I was doing anything but marking time. But, I was curious to see if we happened to have gotten lucky on this trial cycle without Clomid. It had been 33 days already, well past the "5 day sooner" window. What did I have to lose?

I did what you need to do, and went to clean up with the tp. What I saw then told me I should have saved the test. I threw it away without waiting for the results to show.

It was only later that I realized that in my state of drowsiness I had grabbed the last ovulation predictor and not a pregnancy test after all.*

Right now it looks like I'll be doing an HSG one day next week** - and unless I hear otherwise I'll be skipping the Clomid this cycle too. I guess that's a step forward if I don't have to be dependent on chemicals to make my body do what it should? Not that doing what it should is any guarantee of success. Sigh.

*I blame being drowsy, but I probably would have done the same thing wide awake. It was in a mostly pink box with a wrapped pee stick in it. I knew I had an open multi-count box of pregnancy tests, so without looking closely, it was easy to mistake one for the other.

**With the assistance of Prince Valium (anyone? anyone? Name the movie - without Googling it, I dare ya!) and a prescription pain med, of course. With that combination I'm hoping that my pain/fear reaction is dulled enough to prevent them combining to invite "Panic Attack" to the party. That guy isn't a whole lot of fun.

  1. Very good Leslie!

Now, can any one tell me the movie in which a character was named "Prince Valium"?
