As suspected, the Beta came back negative.

Waiting for official call from RE to determine "what's next."

RE called with sympathy, but no explanation, especially with being able to get two of the remaining embryos far enough along to freeze. Said
that he's seen a number of women who have a successful frozen cycle after a fresh cycle - with the anesthesia/surgery for the retrieval and all the other drugs the body is not necessarily in the best condition. A frozen cycle is apparently easier prep - (estrogen) pills only. While that's all good to know I'm not going to count on success again.

On a lighter note when I told him we were leaving for vacation this weekend (attn. potential robbers: we will leave vicious attack cats at the house. You don't want to incur their wrath.) he told me to drink heavily over vacation. I just may have to follow Doctors' Orders on that.

  1. :-(

I am so sad to hear this news - was really hoping that beta was going to come back good. Frustrating, frustrating, frustrating. Any chance you can find a way to treat yourself to something good today - a decadent dessert or a pedicure? You deserve it. Take care of yourself!

  2. That really sucks. Please accept my paltry offering of virtual hugs. I'm with Hope in Virginia, I hope you do something nice for yourself this weekend.

  3. Blech, I'm so sorry. It totally sucks.

    As promised, (((((((BIG HUGS))))))))

  4. Ugh. I'm so sorry. Everyone is right, it sucks.

  5. That just sucks. I had the exact same result in March and my RE was shaking his head that I had a frozen blast out of it, but nothing fresh stuck. That didn't make me feel better.

I like your RE's approach however. The doctor has prescribed drink and you had best follow doctor's orders!!

Lots of love heading your way.

(ps - I did a frozen cycle last year, and there was much less drama from a medication standpoint. Bonus - the estrogen made me lose weight. Can't guarantee that for you, or if you want it, but it was an unexpected surprise).

  6. I am so very sorry, it really sucks. Be good to yourself in the next few days.

  7. You left a nice post on my blog, so I was returning here to comment back to you only to hear your disappointing news. I'm sorry to hear about your BFN and only hope that you have a restorative vacation coming up and that you follow doctors orders.
