Hack Attack

I'll be the first to admit I know very little about properly pruning things so they don't look cut back.

But there comes a point when I can no longer stand the look of a bush or tree and must attack it or suffer great annoyance.

Something tells me my husband is going to be the one annoyed this evening when he comes home and sees what I did to the dwarf japanese maples planted on either side of our front door.

Based on past experience (with the same trees) I know, like an impulsive and bad haircut, they will grow back. It just takes time.

At least this time I didn't try to trim off my finger along with one of the branches...I do learn from my mistakes (mostly).

  1. oh no... :) Keep the branches at 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock... everything else goes... stand back at least 10 feet every 2-3 cuts to make sure you stay balanced! (I learned the hard way!)

  2. I've recently demiloshed a shrub in our garden. Husband was pleased but I felt much better for it!
