Thoughtful Things

Instead of writing a post complaining about the deer thinking our yard is their private dining hall, I thought I'd follow in the footsteps of JJ over at Reproductive Jeans who introduced Thoughtful Tuesdays a few weeks (months? errr..) back.

Since it's Monday, I'm jumping the gun, but here's a few things that have happened that were pretty darn nice...

1. In the grocery store parking lot post-emptying the groceries from the cart into the car and facing the conundrum of either leaving Little One in the hot car while I return the cart or returning the cart and then hauling her back to the car, a younger woman (perhaps one of the local college students) approached as she was entering the store and offered to take the cart back for me. Which she did and then entered the store cart-less. How awesome of her was it to do that when she didn't even need a cart?

2. Today I went to empty the dishwasher only to find that DH had emptied the lower rack this morning so all I had to put away were a few items remaining on the top rack. AND he put some things I rarely use back in the right place instead of just leaving them on the counter for me to deal with. Kudos to him!

3. One of the women at the hospital lactation group listened when I said Wednesday was my birthday. Rather than blow it off, she asked if I wanted to get together and celebrate it on a non-group day, and then made an announcement of the celebration at group this morning. How awesome is that? It's really nice to be finally, after 8 years of living here, making a few friends! (I'm not shy and anti-social, much. Hah.)

I hope you will enjoy more random acts of kindness from strangers from now on. ;-)
