I'm not really a do things by the seat of my pants kind of girl. Structure and expectations, they are my friends.
So, when DH declared last night that he wanted to head up to Wintergreen tonight so he could be up there for the predicted snow storm and the foot and a half to two feet of snow that's supposed to fall up there versus the 1-6 inches that we're supposed to get at home, I froze up like a bogged down computer.
Making a list of everything we needed to do and take helped, so 10PM last night found me pulling together supplies for meals and snacks, and 7:30AM this morning found me at the grocery store picking up the few items we didn't have on hand.
8AM found me at the hospital having my blood drawn (again, why does it take 300x as long to get checked in and wait than to have the actual blood taken?) by a phlebotomist who took pleasure in digging around my vein for the last few drops of blood.
Now I'm at work and my brain is still spinning around the items that need to be completed before we leave. I guess it's time for another list so I can get to the work projects waiting for my attention.
Will update with today's betas...check back later.
UPDATE:
277 - not quite doubled but still respectable. No word on the progesterone level, but I'm not so worried about that. Go back Monday for another test. (Assuming we don't get stuck up at Wintergreen; then something will work out.)

Ugh, doesn't DH know there's more important stuff to do than packing?! Like obsessing, checking the phone a billion times, fretting, thumb twiddling, and eating vast amounts of chocolate?
ReplyDeleteIf you're too busy to do those things now, I totally get it. I'll be doing them for you while I wait on pins and needles for your results.
You are brave... calling for 16 inches here where I am at! You BEST be careful driving and being out in the snow : )
ReplyDelete--I am waiting for your results as well!
Jo
On one hand, it's good to have something to occupy your mind other than the beta results, but... at the same time, it might be nice to just sit back and daydream and wait for them! I was a mess waiting for my second beta since my first had such a low number (50). That was a most unproductive day at work, let me tell you. Now, if you'll excuse me, there's chocolate in my kitchen calling your name, and I'll go eat it for you since you're busy :)
ReplyDeleteGee, thanks guys for making the ultimate sacrifice of eating chocolate on my behalf. ;)
ReplyDeleteStill no word.
I still haven't managed to eat that chocolate for you - but I did manage to spill some Peanut M&Ms across the kitchen counter. Luckily only one hit the floor as mass hysteria broke out. I have mom's dogs for the week (bringing my total to 3) and they all dove for it at the same time. It's sad when you're on your hands and knees under the table yelling, "Don't touch it, don't touch!" and get to it first (nice reflexes guys) and yell "Aha, I win!" rub it in the dogs' faces, then promptly stuff it in your mouth. Cuz, that would be such a waste of chocolate if I threw it out. Yes, I think I'm alone far too much.
ReplyDeleteHope you hear soon!
YAYAYAYAYAYAY on your beta!!! GO GIGANTO EGG, NOW GIGANTO ZYGOTE, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
