This morning, there was a blurb on the television news about the ongoing search for the 9-month pregnant woman who has now been missing for a week or so. Looking up briefly I noticed the title banner along the bottom was partially obscured by the local station's identification symbol leaving this portion visible:
The Search for Jes
Then the station symbol was removed to reveal the full title:
The Search for Jessie
My husband and I turned to each other and agreed that for both of us, our first thought was that the banner had actually read:
The Search for Jesus.
And then we laughed at ourselves.
**I want to make clear that we were not laughing at the search or the concerns of Jessie's family and friends. That is a very serious situation which no family member or friend should have to go through. **
