We are a family of issues...

The members of Higrens and Co. all have issues. Some are larger than others, and some are actually humorous...here is a small sampling:

Me: I'm allergic to most metals used in jewelry (except gold and very pure silver) and break out into a rash where my skin has come into prolonged contact with the metal. This also applies to Stainless Steel watch backs and bare metal hook and eyes on pant and skirt waistbands. Currently I have a small rash on my waist from a pair of pants I have owned for years - and which have been giving me a rash in the same spot for years. You would think I would wise up and just cut the darn hook and eye out already!

Dog: Recurring bacterial and/or fungal ear infections, but in one ear only. They make her scratch like crazy. This time she has scratched so much she has some scabs on her poor ear. To the vet with her today for hopefully some antibiotics or something to help sooth the itch.

Cat 1: Currently won't shut up. Even at night when we are obviously trying to sleep. The medicine from the vet has apparently stopped working. This is also going to be addressed when I visit the vet today. This cat has always liked to ride around draped across my shoulders and behind my neck; giving all the benefits of a kitty snuggle while leaving my hands free to do other things.

Cat 2: Uses flatulence as her preferred method of letting us know she wants down when we have held and snuggled her too long (according to her calculations). This is the reason her nickname is "Stinky." She also ate a fly yesterday morning. I know this is normal cat behavior, but I still find it disturbing. She is not as free with her affections, and is a lap kitty on her terms only. When she does settle on your lap, she goes limp, splaying and draping her limbs in positions which do not look comfortable but which must be based on their regular appearance.

DH has his own issues which I do not feel comfortable bringing up at this time, but can find very humorous when the mood strikes. Maybe I'll elaborate on them later. Maybe.

What issues do you or your family members have?
